Toll to upgrade NZ freight terminal

Toll has announced that construction will commence next month on a new Wellington Freight Terminal in New Zealand.

The 8,400-square-metre purpose-built facility will reportedly double the size of the current premise which is situated on a 1.8ha site. The facility will also encompass both a freight forwarding and rail terminal and will provide operational growth along with safety improvements.

“Safety, capacity and efficiency will be the immediate gains for our Wellington operation once we complete construction of the new freight terminal in Wellington,” said Toll Wellington Branch Manager, Paul Tawharu.

“The new building will be double the size of the existing building.

“Not only does this future proof for growth – it means we will be able to pursue new customers, as we can scale up considerably.”

The site is expected to be completed mid-2020.
