Fastway Couriers is rebranding as Aramex across Australia and New Zealand.
Aramex purchased Fastway Couriers in Australia and New Zealand in January 2016 for $117 million. Aramex has a presence in 72 countries, transporting nearly 70 million parcels globally each year.
The rollout of the Aramex brand across the Australian network of 27 regional franchisees and more than 800 franchise partners, as well as the New Zealand network of 18 regional franchisees and 280-plus franchise partners marks the final milestone in the 2016 acquisition of Fastway Limited.
Fastway Couriers Australia chief executive Peter Lipinski said the time was right to adopt the Aramex name with the significant rise in parcel movements across the globe due to the explosion in e-commerce and surging customer demand for more diverse shipping options.
“We are combining our local customer service with a fresh new look and global mindset with access to even more shipping destinations.”
“The rebranding represents a powerful opportunity for our local franchise operators, and for the many Australian businesses looking to capitalise on global trends in online retail.”
Mr Lipinski added the rebranding is scheduled to be completed in early 2020.
“It’s a big exercise and we’re putting a lot of effort into making the change as easy as possible for our franchisee partners and their customers,” Mr Lipinski said.
“We’ll still be local franchisees, in local regions, and this is very important to us as local customer service is in our DNA but we are also part of Aramex, a global leader in logistics and that brings many benefits.”
“This is an exciting evolution for our brand, our business, our franchise partners and our customers which strengthens our shared ability to capture more of the rapidly growing ecommerce market.”
Established in New Zealand in 1983, Fastway Couriers’ has a footprint in countries including Australia, Ireland and South Africa, with a total of 63 regional depots and 1,500 franchisees in operation.
As of January 2016, Fastway Couriers in New Zealand and Australia was acquired by Aramex, a leading global provider of comprehensive logistics and transport operating in over 60 countries. The company is publicly listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) as Arab International Logistics (Aramex) with its shares traded under ARMX.
