4th Annual Human Factors in Transport
25-26 August 2008
Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour, Sydney
The 4th Human Factors in Transport conference will examine emerging human factors issues across all modes of transport.
Brining together academics, regulators, practitioners and safety professionals, the event will showcase the latest developments in enhancing safety in the workplace and performance of the transport industry.
According to recent figures released by the Australian Safety and Compensation Council, a fatality happens almost every day as a result of workplace injury. Recognising the importance of human error, the event focuses on how safety can be improved by a better understanding of the human element with the system.
Speakers include Dr Alan Hobbs from NASA Ames Research Centre, USA, Dr Rob Lee from Independent Transport Safety and Reliability Regulator, NSW, Paul Elischer from Defence Science and Technology Organisation and Sarah Hesketh from Rail Safety & Standards Board, UK.
