SSI Schaefer expands automated division in Asia Pacific

SSI Schaefer has continued its expansion by appointing Brad Welsman as the executive general manager of the Automated Systems Division, Asia Pacific Region.

Brad Welsman will be based in Sydney and will head up the automated systems division, which will cover the full spectrum of automated storage, conveying and picking technologies.

“SSI Schaefer is a leader in the industry in innovative materials handling solutions, particularly in the areas of high efficiency order picking and automated storage, and I am very excited about the opportunity of bringing these innovations to our Australian and Asia Pacific customers,” Mr Welsman said.

Complementing its well-established storage systems business in Asia Pacific, where SSI Schaefer is celebrating 25 years, the appointment of Brad Welsman highlights SSI Schaefer’s on-going investment and expansion in the automated systems division and reaffirms its long-term commitment to the Australian materials handling and storage market.

Brad Welsman brings 15 years experience and expertise in managing the design and implementation of integrated materials handling systems and paperless picking technologies in Australia, Asia Pacific and most recently Europe.

“Both Australia and Asia have a growing potential to benefit from automated storage and high-efficiency picking systems, such as the integrated goods-to-person systems SSI Schaefer recently installed for Coles at Eastern Creek and Somerton.

“SSI Schaefer is in an excellent position to provide systems that improve efficiency, productivity and accuracy with fast return-on-investment and I look forward to working with Australian customers to help improve their operations,” he said.
